On July 11th, 2022 the Oregon Department of Forestry and Oregon Department of Agriculture announced that the emerald ash borer (EAB) has arrived to Oregon and the West Coast. This invasive species has caused widespread destruction to trees across North America and is considered the most destructive pest for forest health on the continent. It not only threatens ash species, including Oregon's native ash, but several other tree species as well.
Oregon agencies are asking residents to keep their eyes out and repot any sightings to the Oregon Invasive Species Hotline to help agencies track the progession of the EAB.
